Another 596 Romanian citizens returned to the country from Israel during the night from Monday to Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces. The flights were carried out by TAROM and private airlines.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs that, following the constant efforts of the Crisis Cell of the MAE, during the night of October 9 to 10, 2023, another 596 of Romanian citizens returned to Romania, by means of two Tarom flights and two flights operated by two private airlines,” said the MAE.
The MFA states that the mobile consular team from the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah and the team from the Rapid Reaction Unit of the MFA Crisis Cell continue to remain at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to provide consular assistance Romanian citizens at the airport.
Romanian citizens who are in the territory of this state can contact the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv and announce their presence in the region, thus communicating their identification data and their coordinates to the e-mail address telaviv@mae.ro and to the telephone number permanence of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv: +972 54 5643279, as well as that of the Consulate General in Haifa: +972 543 998 038, in order to be contacted.
The Foreign Ministry emphasizes the importance of the use of these channels by Romanian citizens for the correct centralization of information and the efficiency of dialogue in order to provide consular assistance.
MAE reiterates the recommendation addressed to Romanian citizens who intend to travel to the State of Israel to reschedule their trip and follow the “Travel Alerts” section on the MFA website (https://www.mae.ro/travel-alerts/2938) .
MAE recommends consulting the Internet pages http://telaviv.mae.ro, https://consular-protection.ec.europa.eu/travel-advice_en and www.mae.ro – the “Travel Advice” section and reminds that Romanian citizens traveling abroad have at their disposal the SMS alert service, related to the information campaign “An SMS can save your life!”.

A travel warning has been issued but it would have been interesting to know the travel purpose of these Romanians. Were they there for Religious tourism? Were they there as members or Monasteries? Were they there as dual Citizenship status? etc.
