BNS trade unions set protests calendar – pickets at Cotroceni Palace
The trade unions affiliated to the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) will picket in the following period the Cotroceni Palace in order to draw attention to the problems they are currently facing.
According to the calendar announced on Tuesday by BNS leader Dumitru Costin, the protests start on May 25 with the trade unions in the defence field, which are to picket Cotroceni Palace during 11.00h-14.00h along with the trade unions in the same field affiliated to Cartel Alfa. Costin said some 300 to 500 people are expected.
“We’re going to stage protests until someone will take us seriously,” Costin said.
On Monday, May 30, another BNS protest is scheduled regarding the labour legal framework; agriculture trade unions will stage a protest on May 31, while on June 2 the trade unions in the automotive industry, auto parts industry and transports will stage protests. On Friday June 3 the trade unions in the energy field will protest.
BNS has sent on Tuesday an open letter to the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, drawing up the attention on “chaotic wage policies, discriminatory and without motivations” asking the head of state to mediate “between the state and the society”.
