Bodies of Romanian twin sisters found in a park in Paris
The bodies of two Romanian-born twin women were discovered Friday morning by a passer-by who was jogging in the Montsouris park in Paris’s residential 14th arrondissement, RFI reports. The passer-by alerted the police.
The local mayor said emergency crews were called to Montsouris park about 7.30am, when the bodies were spotted floating in the park’s lake, which is about 85 centimetres deep.
According to Le Parisien newspaper, the women were 49-year-old Romanian twins, who died in an apparent suicide, their faces covered by a scarf. A note was found on a bank of the lake nearby. Their names were Lucretia and Mariana and were born in December 1970, according to the ID papers found on them.
The park was closed on Friday, with police officers carrying on inquiries.
