CFR Calatori takes over passenger traffic from RegioTrans

CFR Calatori took over on Wednesday the RegioTrans passenger traffic, the private company whose trains were suspended by the Romanian Railway Safety Authority following the finding of irregularities in almost 30 cars.

The routes to be covered by the state company trains are: Ia?i – Hârl?u – Ia?i, Ia?i – Dorohoi – Ia?i, Bra?ov – Întorsura Buz?ului – Bra?ov, Bra?ov – Z?rne?ti – Bra?ov, Pite?ti – Gole?ti – Câmpulung – Gole?ti – Pite?ti, Pite?ti – Curtea de Arge? – Pite?ti, Ro?iori – Turnu M?gurele – Ro?iori, Ro?iori – Alexandria – Zimnicea – Alexandria – Ro?iori, Timi?oara – Jimbolia – Timi?oara, Ploie?ti – Urziceni – Ploie?ti ?i Caracal – Corabia – Caracal.

One way tickets on these routes will have the same price as the ones charged by the private operator. For return journeys, CFR offers a10% discount.

RegioTrans trains are not allowed to travel by rail in Romania after the Railway Safety Authority withdrew the company’s license, unveiling that the private operator uses trains that do not meet the technically legislative provisions.

The company announced that it has started steps to get a new rail safety certificate.
