Conservation Carpathia Foundation Wins Prestigious BAMBI Award for Făgăraș Mountains Project
The conservation efforts of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation and their dedication to nature are honored with the BAMBI award in the ‘Our Earth’ category. Barbara and Christoph Promberger, the Foundation’s executive directors, were presented with this iconic trophy at the gala held on November 16 at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich.
The BAMBI Awards, a globally renowned event in its 75th edition, aims to recognize excellence in various fields, celebrating individuals and organizations that have achieved remarkable feats and had a significant impact on the German and European audiences.
The Conservation Carpathia Foundation joins a group of personalities such as Michael Jackson, Ursula von der Leyen, Pope Francis, Tom Cruise, Bill Clinton, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, previous winners of the BAMBI award.
The BAMBI Awards, given since 1948 across 12 distinct categories, have recognized exceptional commitment to nature conservation for many years under the ‘Our Earth’ category. Barbara and Christoph Promberger, the executive directors of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation, were awarded for their vision to establish one of the largest national parks in Europe in the Făgăraș Mountains.
“We dedicate this award to Romania and its exceptional nature. We thank Romania for allowing it to become home for us,” said Barbara and Christoph Promberger, executive directors of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation, on the event stage.
According to the BAMBI jury: “Barbara and Christoph Promberger are role models through their commitment and dedication to nature. Through their project, they are laying the foundation for nature, under constant pressure, to thrive again in a healthy world and create the conditions for preserving biodiversity.”
“We never expected the Conservation Carpathia Foundation’s work to be honored with a BAMBI award, but we are happy and grateful that BAMBI brought Romania’s nature to the stage and allowed us to present the Făgăraș Mountains to such a large audience. BAMBI motivates us to continue with our nature conservation project, and we hope it inspires more people to get involved in protecting the forests,” stated Barbara and Christoph Promberger, executive directors of the Conservation Carpathia Foundation.
