Meteorologists have updated and extended the yellow and orange warnings for snow, blizzard, and strong winds.

The first yellow warning for wind and drifting snow in the mountains will come into effect on Friday at 10:00 and will be valid until 18:00. During this period, the wind will intensify in the Eastern Carpathians and the Apuseni Mountains, reaching speeds of 60…80 km/h, and in the high-altitude areas, gusts will exceed 90…100 km/h. Especially in the mountain ranges in the northern part of the country, it will temporarily snow with drifting, and visibility will be reduced. The wind will also intensify in northern Crișana, northwest Transylvania, and the sub-Carpathian hills of Moldova, generally with speeds of 55…75 km/h.

From 18:00 until Sunday at the same time, meteorologists have issued a yellow warning for significant quantitative precipitation, intensified winds, and blizzard. During this interval, the precipitation area will expand to include the southern and southeastern regions, where significant amounts of water, ranging from 25…30 l/sqm, and locally over 40…50 l/sqm, will accumulate. There will be rain, but gradually starting from the night of Saturday to Sunday (November 25/26), it will turn into sleet and snow. The wind will intensify especially in southern Moldova, the eastern half of Muntenia, Dobrogea, as well as in the Southern and Curvature Carpathians. There will be gusts generally of 60…75 km/h, with intervals of blizzard and reduced visibility.

From Saturday night to Sunday at 16:00, an orange blizzard warning will be in effect. The affected counties will be Vrancea, Galați, Buzău, Brăila, Ialomița, Călărași, Tulcea, and Constanța, where it will snow and there will be a blizzard. The wind will have sustained intensifications with gusts of 75…85 km/h, and visibility will drop below 50 meters.

Weather in Bucharest

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a special forecast for Bucharest.

On Friday, in the capital, the weather will warm up compared to the previous day and will become mild for the last decade of November. The maximum temperature will be 14…15 degrees, and the minimum will be around 6 degrees. The sky will get cloudy in the evening hours, there will be temporary moderate rainfall (accumulating up to 10…15 l/mp). The wind will blow moderately during the day with speeds of 35…45 km/h, then it will weaken in intensity.

On Saturday, the weather will cool significantly. The sky will be overcast, and throughout the interval, there will be precipitation in the form of rain, turning into sleet and snow at night. Significant amounts of water will accumulate, exceeding 20…25 l/mp. The wind will be moderate in the second part of the interval (with gusts generally reaching 45…50 km/h). The maximum temperature will be 6…7 degrees, and the minimum will be around 1 degree.

On Sunday, the weather will be colder than usual for this time of year. The sky will be cloudy in the early hours, with light mixed precipitation, then it will become variable. The wind will intensify, with gusts generally reaching 45…50 km/h. The maximum temperature will be 5…6 degrees.
