Seven counties and the capital are under an orange heatwave warning on Monday, with temperatures of 35-37 degrees predicted. Also, the heat wave persists in Banat, in the north-west and north of Oltenia, in the north of Muntenia, as well as in the continental area of ​​Dobrogea, these areas being targeted by a code orange warning.

Meteorologists have issued a code yellow warning, announcing a persistent heat wave and high thermal discomfort in several regions.

“The heat wave will persist in Banat, in the north-west and north of Oltenia, in the north of Muntenia, as well as in the continental area of ​​Dobrogea, thermal discomfort will remain high, the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach the critical threshold of 80 units, and it will be hot in isolation”, according to the National Meteorology Administration (ANM).

Maximum temperatures, still much higher than normal for the period, will generally be between 33 and 35 degrees.

A code orange warning is also valid on Monday, with persistent heat wave, heat wave and severe thermal discomfort forecast in the counties of Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ialomiţa, Călăraşi and Ilfov, as well as in the municipality of Bucharest.

“In the counties of Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ialomiţa, Călărași and Ilfov, as well as in the municipality of Bucharest, the heat wave will persist, and the maximum temperatures, although slightly lower than those recorded in the previous days, will still be particularly raised. The thermal discomfort will remain accentuated, the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units and it will be hot”, say the meteorologists.

The maximum temperatures will be 35…37 degrees, and the minimum temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees (tropical night).
