Intelligence Service anti-terrorist brigade and Cyber center under check
SRI Control Parliamentary Committee decided on Thursday to make a check at the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) anti-terrorist brigade and at the Cyber center the upcoming period, in order to see the response of the Service to terrorist attacks and cyber incidents.
“We are concerned that in 2014, compared to 2013, the number of cyber incidents and terrorist attacks has doubled. We want to make sure that SRI has the ability to counteract these risks,” said Georgian Pop (PSD), the Committee’s president, according to Mediafax.
He also announced a check at the department dealing with cross-border threats.
“We will also check the department dealing with cross-border threats. We are a border state, we have a border with Ukraine, a country where there is conflict, opened war. In any conflict zone there is an activity of organized crime groups to take weapons from the battlefield, for selling them afterwards in other parts of the world. This arms trafficking represents a great threat,” also said the PSD MP.
