Revolted miners break in the Hunedoara Energy Complex HQs, consensus reached
About 100 of those over 400 miners who were protesting in front of the Hunedoara Energy Complex (CEH) in Petrosani on Thursday morning broke into the company’s HQs asking for the management resignation. Protesters have pushed the doorkeepers and broke into the first floor of the building, chanting “Thieves”, “Get out, you stinking dog”, “Resignation” “We don’t give up”.
The 400 miners from Lonea, Lupeni and Vulcan mines refused to go underground asking for the management’s resignation and accusing it of incompetence. The miners are in fact dissatisfied with the lack of work outfit, arguing that their bosses’ lies and incompetence are jeopardizing their jobs.
In the evening, the protesters and the union leaders had reached an agreement, so the miners have given up their protest after they were promised the the Complex general manager and deputy general manager would be replaced.
CEH comprises four mining units, Lonea, Livezeni, Vulcani and Lupeni, but also Paro?eni and Mintia Thermal Power Plants, with a total of 6,7000 employees.
Aurel Niculescu is currently CEH general manager, appointed by the Economy minister Constantin Ni??.
