Sleet and snow warning forecast for most of the country

The National Meteorological Administration issued on Friday morning a warning forecast of sleet, snow and strong wind, valid on Friday between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Sleet and snow were announced and expected first in Moldavia and Transylvania, and then, locally, also in the South.

In the mentioned time slot, there have been forecasted precipitations predominantly in the form of snow in Moldavia and the Eastern half of Transylvania, and in the afternoon rainfalls will locally turn into sleet and snow also in Muntenia. In the Eastern and Southern Carpathians it will be snowing. The amounts of water were expected to exceed at close range 10…15 liters / sqm.

In South-Eastern regions, the wind is expected to intensify reaching speeds of 50…60 km / h, and it will blow hard on the mountain ridges, with over 80 km / h, with temporary blizzard snow.
