Sunny days are over, rainfalls to seize western and northern Romania

The good weather is saying goodbye, with rainfalls coming particularly in northwestern country, as of Saturday.

An orange code warning for rainfalls will come into force in this region on Saturday morning, while a yellow code warning for western, northwestern and northern Romania.

So, during November 21, 2 a.m. –November 22, 12:00 heavy rains will be present, strong wind, as well as snowfalls in the mountains and in the submontane regions.

The water quantities will exceed locally 25-30 liters/sqm and isolated 50 liters/sqm.

Snowfalls will prevail in Apuseni Mountains and in northern Oriental Carpathians, but also on heights of over 1,800 meters on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Mixed falls are possible on Sunday, November 22 in hill regions from the western and northern territory.

Wind will blow strongly with speeds of 55-60 km per hour, while in the mountains it will blow even stronger with over 90-100 km/h.

The orange code will come into effect on Saturday in Maramures county, as well as in the mountain regions of Bistrita Nasaud, Bihor, Cluj and Salaj, where falls will exceed 50 to 70 liters per square meter.
