The police officer from Suceava who has been hit in the head with a sword during searches is currently paralysed on the left part of the body and he cannot see with his left eye. However, the 35-year-old man can breathe without ventilation and can talk, with doctors saying he overcame the critical period. Doctors are now focused on his rehabilitation and they will be able to say if there will be long-term repercussionsn only after six months.

The policeman was admitted to the Neurosurgery Hospital in Iasi in a coma a week ago. He had serious head injuries after an interloper had hit him with a machete. Doctors had to perform two brain surgeries.

After six days of coma, the man’s condition has slightly improved, but the bad news is that his left side of the body is paralysed, including his left eye. Doctors don’t rule out the possibility that he goes completely blind.
