SPP officer commits suicide downtown Bucharest
An officer of the Protection and Guard Service (SPP) has committed suicide on Wednesday in the Tineretului-Şincai area, downtown Bucharest. He died at the hospital shortly after being brought in because of a shot in his chest.
Baghdasar-Arseni Hospital spokesman Florian Bica said the man who was brought to the health facility has died, with a wound in the chest area produced by shooting.
SPP spokesman Bogdan Onea told News.ro that the man was a SPP officer, he was a non-operational SPP officer, and on Wednesday he was in his spare time. Onea specified that the SPP officer was 38 years old, was married and had a child.
“In the area of Tineretului Boulevard, a man committed an act of self-aggression, shooting himself in the chest. He was urgently transported to the hospital,” officials of the Bucharest Police have said, digi24.ro informs.
Given that the man was a military, the police officers informed the Military Prosecutor, who will open a file in this case.
