Stadiums and gyms at full capacity as of July 1 in Romania on one condition

The Minister of Youth and Sports has announced on Monday, that the stadiums and sports halls can be occupied at full capacity as of July 1 if all the spectators present are vaccinated. In other cases, the allowed capacity increases from 25 percent to only 50 percent.

In both indoor and outdoor spaces, the spectator participation limit increases to 50% of the maximum capacity of the space and can reach up to 100%, if all participants prove the vaccination against SARS-CoV2 with full scheme, with ten days having passed from the rappel,” MTS said.

The decision of the Romanian Government was published in the Official Gazette no. 628 / 25.06.2021, Part I, and is to come into force on July 1.

Thus, according to the new rules, the sports competitions can to take place, in indoor or outdoor spaces, with spectators in the stands in a percentage of 50% of the maximum capacity of the space, if the cumulative incidence at 14 days of the Covid-19 infections in the county / locality is higher, less than or equal to 3 / 1,000 inhabitants.

Participation in these activities is allowed only for:

  • people who are vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and for whom 10 days have elapsed since the completion of the complete vaccination schedule;
  • individuals who test negative for an RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection not older than 72 hours or a certified negative result for a rapid antigen test not older than 24 hours;
  • people who are in the period between the 15th and 90th day after confirmation of SARS-CoV-2 infection, as evidenced by medical documents (positive RT-PCR test at the time of diagnosis, hospital discharge or test to prove the presence of IgG antibodies performed with a maximum of 14 days prior to the event).

At the same time, the operating conditions for gyms and / or fitness hall in the counties / localities where the cumulative incidence at 14 days is less than or equal to 3 / 1,000 inhabitants have been amended, as they can operate at maximum capacity without the obligation to wear a protection mask and ensuring an area of ​​at least 7 sqm for each person.
