“Step by step” by President Iohannis to be launched in Chinese during Beijing Book Fair

The Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) announced that “Step by step”, the book written by president Klaus Iohannis, would be launched in Chinese at the Book Fair in Beijing. ICR says that it had no financial contribution to the Chinese issue.

“The Chinese version of the “Step by Step” book by Klaus Iohannis will be launched during the International Book Fair in Beijing. The book was published by Zhong Yi publishing house in Beijing, translated by professor Dong XiXiao. The Romanian Cultural Institute had no financial contribution to this project; the translation and launching initiative at the fair belong to the Chinese publisher,” reads the ICR press release.

The Institute adds that the copyright has been obtained from the Curtea Veche publishing house. ICR also mentions that it included in its schedule all the Romanian authors’ book launchings with the aim of the programme diversification.

The launching of President Iohannis’ book in Chinese is due on August 25 within Authors events corner. The Book Fair in Beijing is held during August 24-28. Romania, next to other Central and Eastern European countries, is the guest of honor at the fair. Romania’s stall will display over 1,200 titles of albums and books, published at 20 Romanian publishing houses, as well as translations from Romanian authors, published with the support of the National Book Center within ICR.
