Meteorologists have issued new severe weather alerts. Storms will cover the highlands and bring large amounts of water, while another hot day with scorching temperatures is ahead in the south.

Thus, from today, from noon, until August 12, in most of Moldova, the west and southwest of Transylvania and locally in the mountains, there will be periods of atmospheric instability. This will be manifested by torrential showers, thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, gales, with gusts of 60…70 km/h and hail in small areas. Also, today a yellow heat wave code is valid for several counties in the south of the country. In the south of Oltenia and the south-west and center of Muntenia there will be heatwave and thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximum temperatures will be 35…37 degrees, meteorologists warn.
