The first public reaction of the owners of the LPG station in Crevedia where the explosions took place
The company FLAGAS, which owns the LPG warehouse where the devastating explosions took place in Crevedia, reacts after two days, through a press release. The representatives of the company owned by the son of the mayor of Caracal say that they want to help the affected people, but they do not specify how they would do this. The release is signed by Ionuț Doldurea and Cosmin Stîngă, the two owners of the company.
“Following the tragedy caused by the fire in the town of Crevedia, on behalf of FLAGAS SRL, we find ourselves primarily concerned these days with the situation of the victims and all the people who suffered and are suffering in any way due to this accident. At the company level and at the personal level, as its administrators, we seek to quickly and efficiently identify concrete solutions that will support the suffering people and the efforts of the authorities, and that will complement the impressive mobilization and commitment that many people of good faith have already they have proven without hesitation”, the company’s press release states.
“Grieving beyond words, we are devastated to understand the extreme ordeal that so many families are going through and we hope that we will not be disqualified in our efforts to comfort it,” the statement continued.
“In the given context and out of respect especially for those directly affected by this misfortune, our communications will be rare and restrained, including the criminal proceedings already initiated imposing on us, even if today not at a formal level, such conduct”, the representatives also say FLAG.
Several people from Crevedia say that LPG tankers were unloaded and loaded at the warehouse in Crevedia. A local woman said that the neighbors were afraid that at some point there could be an explosion. “We thought this would happen, the neighbors who died said… the lady even said: when we die, we will die from this LPG. We were afraid,” said the woman, who said that she has a grandson hospitalized in Târgoviște, following the explosion.
The neighbors the woman referred to are the two people who died in the Crevedia explosion. It is about two husbands, who died within 13 hours. The man died first. He had a heart attack when he saw how badly his wife was injured.
2 people died and 56 were injured in the devastating explosion on Saturday evening in Crevedia. Some of the injured are in Romania, others have been transferred abroad. Also, 8 houses were destroyed.
