The four candidates for the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) chief prosecutor position are being interviewed on Thursday by Justice Minister, Tudorel Toader.

The four are:

  • Florentina Mirica – prosecutor-chief of department for fighting corruption with DNA;
  • Cristian Lazar – deputy chief prosecutor of the Department for Criminal Prosecution with the Prosecutor General’s Office;
  • Marius Iacob – deputy chief prosecutor with DNA;
  • Elena Grecu – prosecutor, chief of department in the DNA central structure.

Each candidate has half an hour to support his management project and one hour to answer the question addressed by the examining commission members.

Justice Minister Tudorel Toader is to announce on Friday if he chooses one of these four candidates or if he resumes the selection procedure.

On Monday, Toader argued that the appointment of the new chief prosecutor with the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) will not be the result of political barter.
