Amid a higher demand to go and study abroad, Romanian students seeking higher education in a foreign country face various challenges, one of the most significant being the requirement of mandatory entrance exams. These exams play a crucial role in the admission process to foreign universities, and their importance cannot be overstated.

Mandatory entrance exams serve as a standardized measure of a student’s academic abilities, ensuring that applicants possess the necessary knowledge and skills for university-level studies. For Romanian students, these exams often include assessments in subjects like mathematics, science, and languages, which align with international educational standards. Such evaluations not only gauge a student’s readiness but also provide universities with a uniform benchmark for comparison across diverse educational backgrounds.

A strong exam score can distinguish candidates in a pool of applicants, many of whom may have similar academic qualifications. This is particularly vital for those aiming for top-tier universities, where admissions can be exceptionally selective.

Preparing for mandatory entrance exams encourages students to deepen their understanding of essential subjects, fostering a robust academic foundation. This preparation often translates into better performance in university courses, as students are more likely to be equipped with the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for success in higher education.

However, professional help is seldom needed along the way, with Creative Learning Hub center providing extra private maths and statistics lessons for international A LEVEL, GMAT and SAT exams.

Each of these types of exams has different subjects and requirements. For example:

A-levels, also known as Advanced Level Qualifications, are written exams, not digital, used in the education system of the United Kingdom and other countries following the same system. British universities, even post-Brexit, continue to show significant interest in Romanian students, as I have observed. This is equivalent to the Baccalaureate and can vary in structure depending on the subjects studied, being assessed through modules or specific units for each subject.

SAT, known as the Standardized Achievement Test, is used in the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States, as well as in Italy for admission to Bocconi University, which many of my students aim for. This test evaluates students’ academic skills and measures their knowledge and abilities in mathematics, reading, and writing. The exam consists of two parts: mathematics (which includes statistics) and English. I advise my students to prepare intensively for both, to avoid the unpleasant surprise of a low English score that could prevent admission, even with a high mathematics score.

GMAT, known as the Graduate Management Admission Test, is a standardized test used in the admissions process for master’s or MBA programs in business. It assesses candidates’ verbal, mathematical, and analytical skills and is administered in English.

Regarding all these, completing the Romanian curriculum is not sufficient for achieving good results. Additional preparation, either individually or with an experienced teacher in these exams, is necessary,” the founder of the center, Dr. Georgiana Popovici explained to us.

Therefore, mandatory entrance exams for Romanian students applying to foreign universities are of paramount importance. They serve not only as a standardized assessment of academic readiness but also enhance competitiveness, foster academic preparedness, create scholarship opportunities, and promote cultural exchange.

As Romanian students continue to seek higher education abroad, understanding and preparing for these exams will be essential for their academic and professional futures.

Seeking college consulting services can help students better understand the entrance requirements and application processes for universities abroad, ensuring a more strategic approach to their education goals.
