The Polytechnic University in Bucharest, also known as Politehnica, will have its own recruitment agency starting autumn. Poli Jobs agency will make sure the students who graduated from the polytechnic school will be integrated on the labour market and will find a proper job in compliance with their educational background.
All youngsters who will join the Polytechnic University as of autumn will be included in the database of the Poli Jobs Agency. Depending on their specialization, level of training and particularly on their grades, the students will receive minimum one job offer. At first, students will get offers of internships and after graduation they will receive job offers.
The Polytechnic University in Bucharest closed partnerships with 2,000 companies in Romania and abroad that would provide jobs for 3,000 students.
The Polytechnic University of Bucharest is the oldest and most prestigious engineering school in Romania, with a tradition of more than 190 years. It was founded in 1864, as School of Bridges and Roads, Mines and Architecture (based on the older technical school of Gheorghe Lazar, from 1818), and it was renamed Polytechnic School in 1920.
Its specificity relies in creating knowledge through research and technological innovation, as well as through its implementation by means of education and professional training at a European level. Politehnica is classified by the Education Ministry as an advanced research and education university.
At present, the University is made of 15 different faculties and has about 25,000 students.
According to the Scimago Lab, based on data collected between 2007 and 2011, Politehnica University of Bucharest ranked 546th in the World, 15th regionally and number one in the country by number of publications.
