Romanian fashion design is taking more and more ground not only on clothes but also on accessories, with more and more young Romanian women embarking on the fashion entrepreneurship path. A new such story took shape on the local fashion landscape.

SILKDOM story started in November last year by launching the first collection of natural silk clutches, also known as ‘minaudieres’, the small size purses dating back in the 50s, designed to be carried during formal events.

Romanian Madalina Nistor is behind the Romanian silk clutch story. “The idea of founding such a business started from my passion for silk. It’s a passion inherited from my grandmother who had the chance as a teenager to meet Queen Maria of Romania, from whom she learnt a certain type of elegance and love for precious things, including for silk and the national port. My grandmother gave me the first silk gift when I was 9 and from that moment silk has become a symbol of femininity and seduction for me,” said Madalina Nistor, SILKDOM founder.silkdom 2Every clutch made in the SILKDOM shop is unique and bears the story of its future owner. Be it tiny clutches or generous creations, suitable for casual outfits, the SILKDOM pieces aims to get beyond the conventional area. The prints are alive, telling stories and stirring emotions.

The SILKDOM’s message is that silk can be worn any time and can be assorted with any outfit, from jeans to evening gowns, being the statement piece, the expression of luxury and social statute.

All pieces of the collection are made of natural silk and have various accessories ranging from lace, crystals, precious stones, feathers, etc. SILKDOM brand also comprises silk scarves and jewelry.silkdom 1
