Three quakes jolt Vrancea region in the past 24 hours
An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale took place on Saturday in Buzau, the third earthquake produced in the county in 24 hours, according to the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at 8.48h local time at a depth of 91.2 kilometres.
Two more earthquakes, of magnitude 3 and 3.1 on the Richter scale, also took place in Buzau County Friday morning.
A fourth earthquake, magnitude 2.2 on the Richter scale, occurred at 5.20h Saturday morning in Moldavia, Galati County, at a depth of only 13.5 kilometres.
The cities closest to the seismic epicentre are Tirgu Bujor (24 km), Tecuci (31 km), Bereşti (33 km), Bîrlad (40 km), Galati (53 km).
