Three Syrians who entered Romania illegally were caught in Dambovita County
Three Syrian citizens who illegally entered Romania were discovered on Tuesday in the village of Corbii Mari in Dambovita County, according to the Dambovita County Police Inspectorate (IPJ).
Alexandra Niculae, Dambovita County Police spokesperson, said that it’s about two men and a woman aged between 23 and 25 years.
According to police, the three Syrians were transported by truck from Turkey, and were to arrive in Bucharest.
Sources close to the investigation said the truck driver, who stayed overnight at his girlfriend in the village, found in the morning the truck’s tarpaulin cut and announced the police. The police came to the village of Corbii Mari where they found the three Syrians walking down the street.
According to sources, the Syrian citizens had phones, a tablet and identification papers, and their destination allegedly was Germany.
“Currently, the three are at the police station in Gaiesti to be heard. Because they do not know English, a translator will be present,” said Alexandra Niculae.
