Torrential rain, lightning and hail across Romania by Thursday evening

Meteorologists announce that in most of the country it will rain and there will be strong wind until Thursday evening, and a yellow code warning has been issued for four counties.

The National Meteorological Administration has issued a new weather alert for the interval Tuesday, 18.00 – Thursday, 20.00, targeting quantitatively moderate rains and strong wind gusts.

Therefore, it will rain in the center, south and east of the country. Water quantities of 10…15 l/m2 will accumulate, especially in hilly and mountainous areas. There will be electrical discharges and hail in limited areas, especially throughout Thursday (April 20).

In the Southern Carpathians and Curvature Carpathians, at altitudes above 1700 m there will be precipitation in the form of sleet and snow and a layer of snow will be deposited. T

The wind will blow in the east and southeast of the territory, as well as in the high mountain area, generally with speeds of 45…55 km/h.

At the same time, a code yellow alert for significant rainfall was issued for counties of Tulcea, Constanța, Ialonița and Călărași. During Tuesday, 22:00hrs-Wednesday, 18:00hrs there will be torrential rain in Dobrogea and southeastern Muntenia.

What will the weather be like in Bucharest? 

The meteorologists have also issued a special forecast for Bucharest, for the interval Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. – Thursday, 8:00 p.m. During this period, the sky will be cloudy, it will temporarily rain and amounts of water will accumulate on average of 5…10 l/sq.

The rains will also have a downpour character, and especially in the afternoon of Thursday, thunderstorms will be possible. Wind gusts will be weak and moderate.

The maximum temperatures will be 16…18 degrees, and the minimum 6…9 degrees.
