The National meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued a weather warning for torrential rain, storms and hail, in force countrywide until Friday evening.
Starting Thursday at 12.00h, until Friday at 22.00h, rain will fall on large areas, with torrential features, accompanied by electric discharges, short-term storms and hail on isolated areas.
Such phenomena will take place Thursday afternoon in western, central and northern Romania and on Friday in eastern, south-eastern, northern and central regions.
Water quantities will exceed 15-25 litres per square metre and 35-40 l/sq m on isolated areas.
Weather instability will be present also on Saturday, mainly in Eastern Carpathians and in neighbouring regions.
In Bucharest extreme phenomena are expected, ANM informs. Atmospheric instability will be high mainly Friday afternoon, with rainfall, electric discharges, wind gusts and important water quantities, realitatea.net informs.
Highs of 26-27 degrees Celsius are expected on Thursday and of 23-24 degrees C on Friday. Lows will fall to 12-15 degrees C.
