The first cases of African swine fever have been tracked down in Teleorman county, Liviu Dragnea’s fief. Mass media reported that two pigs, confirmed with the African swine fever virus, have been found dead in a forest, on Dragnea family’s hunting domain.

Local authorities have kept the cases secret for two weeks although the European and national laws compel the Health Veterinary Directorate to immediately report all the suspect  case.

On top of all, Agriculture minister Petre Daea stated yesterday that authorities must probe into this case to see if it’s a premeditated action.

The hunting domain related to Dragnea’s family is in a forest from Slobozia Mandra in Teleorman county, 19 kilometers away from the pig farm in Salcia, owned by Liviu Dragnea’s son, Valentin. An employee from the National Veterinary Authority told „Libertatea daily that the reporting on those two cases in Teleorman been kept secret as „they feared of what might have happened if the information had revealed the pigs had been found on Dragnea’s domain”.

The same anonymous source say that’s why the tests and the results had been coordinated from Bucharest, although the county directorate in Teleorman should have normally managed the case.

The domain of Slobozia Mandra has been revealed as being Dragnea’s property and after that Tel Drum’s property starting March 2017 in a Rise Project investigation.

On the other hand, Agriculture minister accused it might be a premeditate action.

It’s a question mark if the case in Teleorman had been premeditated, (…) how can two pig bodies can just appear in the forest. That’s why the National Veterinary Authority has asked the Veterinary Directorate in Teleorman to take the necessary actions to see what’s is all about. We cannot fool around with this situation, it’s an extremely serious disease,” Daea told Antena 3 private broadcaster on Thursday.
