Two more die of flu, death toll up to 10

Two men have died of flue this week, with the death toll climbing to ten. Both man, aged 40 and 50, were from Mures county.

According to the Mures health bodies, there were four cases confirmed with flu in the county, with two deaths reported. A man from Sighisoara died on January 31, with later lab tests confirming he had got the AH1N1 influenza virus. The second man was from Gornesti village and had the same virus strain. One of the patients who died was also suffering of obesity, while the other had a chronic respiratory disease.

They died right after they had come to hospital.

283 flu cases have been confirmed countrywide in the past week, while the total number exceeding 87,000 this season.

According to the Health Ministry, over 820,000 have been vaccinated against flu until January 28, 2018.

Doctors warned over a flu outbreak due to the population’s lack of interest to get the anti-flu vaccine.
