Two Romanians, involved in the train crash near Barcelona

Two Romanians have been involved in the train accident near Barcelona, the Romanian Foreign Ministry announced, explaining that one of them has suffered minor injuries, while the other one has not been injured.

The injured Romanian received medical support on the scene and needed no hospitalization.

Two regional trains have gone head-to-head on Friday afternoon, between Sant Vicenç de Castellet and Manresa localities, north-west of Barcelona. At least one person died and other 94 people were injured, with two of them being in critical condition, as El Pais informed.

Emergency services said the 26-year-old driver of one of the trains was killed – while three of the injured are in serious condition. An investigation has been launched although initial reports suggest there may have been a signal failure.
