The traditional boar hunting expedition annually organized by businessman Ion Tiriac has been relocated from Balc to Ersig in Caras-Severin county this year. Several businessmen from Europe are attending the event which started this morning.

Tiriac bought a forest near Ersig village two years ago from Prince Paul of Romania and he set up a hunting domain there, stretching on an area of 700 hectares.

Representatives of the Timisoara International Airport confirmed that several businessmen from Europe have landed there with their private planes to attend Tiriac’s boar hunting. 120 boars are to be hunted.

According to the tradition, the meat will be donated to several shelter homes in Caras-Severin county.

The hunts from Balc, a 150-hectare domain in Bihor County, became known in 2005, when 185 wild boars have been shot, 23 by former prime minister Adrian Nastase.
