The meteorologists have issued on Thursday a warning of bad weather as of Friday morning, at 5.00h, in force until Sunday at 12.00h. The weather will become cold throughout the country is Eastern and South-Eastern Romania, with wind gusts. During the night the temperatures will drop below zero.
Snowfall in the mountainous regions, strong winds, and blizzards.
Light snowfall and sleet in Eastern, Southern and central regions, mainly on Friday and during the night of Saturday to Sunday.
Possible light snowfall in Bucharest, as meteorologists say starting on Friday at 8.00h and until Saturday 8.00h the weather will become colder, with cloudy skies and light precipitations, passing sleet and snowfall.
Moderate wind up to 45-50 km/h is expected, with highs in Bucharest of 4-5 degrees Celsius and lows of -2 to 0 degrees C.
Earlier on Thursday, the meteorologists announced that, as of Thursday and until Sunday, the weather will become colder by 8 degrees Celsius below the yearly average for this period, with light rainfall in most regions of the country.
The weather will become colder and on Saturday, mainly in southern and eastern regions, will turn very cold. During nighttime the temperatures will fall below 0 degrees C countrywide, with freezing temperatures during daytime in the mountainous areas.
In Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea and Moldavia the temperatures will be by approx. 8 degrees Celsius lower than the period’s average, the National Meteorology Administration (ANM) informs.
Snowfall expected in the mountainous areas, with significant quantities in the Eastern Carpathians, wind gusts on Thursday and Friday, followed by hail and snow likely in Eastern, central and Southern Romania.
Temperatures will range, during the day, between 0 and 16 degrees Celsius on Thursday, falling to 1-11C on Friday, to 0-9C on Saturday. On the night of Saturday to Sunday the temperatures will range between -7 and -2 degrees Celsius.
In Bucharest the highs will reach 9-10 degrees C on Sunday.
