Later on, the CNAB representatives confirmed there had been a false alarm and no bomb had been found on board.

The Wizzair aircraft eventually took off from Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport to Warsaw at 21:12.

The bomb threat was received by phone, at the airport in Kutaisi, from a woman, the source also informs.

The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) informs that procedures are ongoing to scan the luggage.

“A crisis cell has been established in the airport. SRI has a pyrotechnical team on the site and will scan the aircraft and the luggage. It is a standard procedure, managed by the airport. The flight did not have the destination in Romania, it was an emergency landing, now we are undergoing the emergency procedures on Otopeni Airport. The passengers have been evacuated,” SRI informs.

Wizzair has confirmed the incident, adding that the situation is under the competence of authorities. Wizzair also informs that the flight was redirected to Bucharest following a suspect phone call on Kutaisi Airport. The crew has taken action according to the procedures and the aircraft has landed in Bucharest without problems, the Wizzair representatives said.
