The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Wednesday a new weather warning for thermal discomfort and atmospheric instability.
The warning is in force from Wednesday, 10.00h until Friday, at 23.00h.
“The weather will turn warmer in most of the country, whereas the western, north-western, southern and south-eastern regions, and on isolated areas in the rest of the country, thermal discomfort will be high in the afternoon. The temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units,” ANM informs.
Atmospheric instability will be high in the hilly areas and mountainous regions and on small areas in other parts of the country. Periods of torrential rain are expected, accompanied by wind gusts and hailstorms.
Water quantities could exceed 15-25 litres per square metre and 35-40 l/sqm on isolated areas.
