Which are the most trusted Romanian institutions?
The Romanians’ confidence in the Presidency’s office increased, while the confidence in the Church declined, reveals an INSCOP survey commissioned by Adevarul newspaper and quoted by Agerpres.
The most trusted domestic institutions are the Firemen, the Army and the Gendarmerie, while NATO, UN and EU top the confidence chart of the foreign institutions.
The confidence in the Presidency (51.2%) rose from 46.3% in September. Romanians have less confidence in the Parliament (12.8%) and in the political parties (8.6%).
The City Hall ranks second in the confidence chart- 37.6%, while the Constitutional Chart comes third with 32.8%. The Government is the fourth most trusted public institution- 30.9%.
Firemen are most trusted when it comes to the executive institutions- 77.5%. However, the fire brigade was surveyed for the first time by INSCOP.
The Army and the Gendarmerie follow, with 73.8% and 65.8% respectively. The National Anti-corruption Directorate ranks fourth- 61.2%, and the national and foreign intelligence service are following (51.3% and 50.9%).
The Church tops the chart of trust in social and private institutions, with 56.3%, however on a downward trend compared to September, when it scored 61.2%.
Universities are the second most trusted social institutions-43 %. The mass media got 35.7%, NGOs-30.2%, trade unions-18.6% and banks- 17.6%.
