Windows XP OS is becoming less used in Romania
SMEs and state institutions use Windows XP at a rate of 34 percent, down from 57 percent in 2014, but Romania is still ranked third in Eastern Europe, a Bitdefender analysis shows.
Romania is overtaken by Ukraine – 41.2 percent and Hungary – 37.5 percent.
Last year, Bitdefender has showed that approximately 57 percent of the computers used in small and medium companies and public institutions in Romania are exposed to major security risks, being equipped with Windows XP, even after Microsoft stopped the technical assistance for this system operation.
According to experts, the market for Windows XP will continue to decline both globally and in Eastern Europe, while the security implications will not be negligible.
