The National Weather Administration (ANM) issued a yellow code warning on Wednesday for snow and blizzard in the most part of the country during March 5, 13:00 and March 6, 16:00. Snowfalls are expected to extend to the entire country as of Friday.
The most affected counties will be Timi?, Cara?-Severin, Gorj, Mehedin?i, Hunedoara, Vâlcea, Gorj, Dolj and the mountain areas of Cluj, Sibiu, Arge?, Dâmbovi?a, Bra?ov, Covasna, Harghita, Neam?, Vrancea, Boto?ani, Suceava and Maramure?.
Snowfalls will prevail in the mountain areas and in southwestern regions, exceeding 15-20 liters on square meter. The wind is expected to intensify in all regions, and in the mountains it will exceed 60 km/h.
In Dobrogea, southern Muntenia and Moldova there will be rains.
The winter will not leave however too quickly, as the forecasters issued a second yellow code snowfall warning to enter into force on Friday, March 6, starting from 16:00 until Saturday, March 7, until 16:00. This code will also affect most of the country, except for the counties in central and northwestern Romania.
This time it will snow in all mountain regions, in Oltenia, Muntenia, in the center and south of Moldova, the most part of Transylvania and in the south of Banat.
