“During the water loading procedure of the Wizz Air flight to Basel, taking off from International Airport in Cluj at 07:20, the car of the handling equipment touched the fuselage of the aircraft. The air operator started technical checks, with another aircraft being scheduled to take off for Basel. The airport kicked off an internal investigation to establish the causes if this incident,” reads an airline’s press release.
The other flight to Basel was scheduled to leave at 12:10.
The operational manager of the airport, Iuliu Pop explained that a water tank had touched the aircraft. “The water device supplying the aircraft with water took the car higher than recommended and touched the aircraft. There are ongoing technical checks,” he added.
