Woman threw her 2- and 3-year-old children from the balcony of a hotel in Botoșani
A woman threw her 2- and 3-year-old children from the balcony of a hotel in Botoșani, then threatened to commit suicide. The 2-year-old died at the hospital, and the other was transferred to Iasi in a coma. After being prevented by the firemen from jumping from the floor as well, the woman claimed that she did not want to harm the children. She had sent her husband a message at the end of which she said “Goodbye”.
The Botoşani County Police announced that a woman on the first floor of a hotel threw her 2- and 3-year-old children from the balcony, threatening to commit suicide. The two children were transported to the hospital, in serious condition, and the two-year-old died.
After about two hours of discussions, “it was possible, by distracting attention, to immobilize the woman, by the firemen who had access from the window of the hotel room, to the place where she was”. Later, she was admitted to the Psychiatry Department of Botoşani County Hospital.
The Monitorul de Botoşani reports that the 3-year-old boy is in a deep coma, being transferred to Iasi, Hotnews.ro reports. According to the same source, the woman is originally from Albeşti and would have come to Botoşani with the children, to take the little ones to play in the park. The woman went to a hotel, saying she couldn’t catch the bus back home, and the hotel staff put her in a room on the 1st floor, even though she claimed she had no ID on her. The one who alerted the authorities was the hotel guard, who heard the noise and, when he left the building, saw the children falling on the asphalt. After being pulled out by firefighters, the woman claimed: “I didn’t want to do anything to them. I didn’t want to do something like that to them!”.
Negotiator Ovidiu Apostoae from IPJ Botoşani reported for Monitorul de Botoşani that the woman was very agitated and said that she was very sorry for what she had done, that she did not want to go to prison and that she did not want the world to think she was crazy.
The woman’s husband stated that he was in Bucharest and that she sent him an “ugly” message, at the end of which he said “Goodbye”.”No one will love them”.
In a message sent to her husband, the woman accused him of causing her to do this. “I hope you are happy now that you got rid of us,” she wrote, according to sources close to the investigation. She also expressed her regret that they got married and said she wanted to “escape” from home.
She also claimed in the note that she thinks it’s the worst for the children, “because they have no fault”, but she can’t leave them “like this, they have no one”, because “no one will love them”.
“I hope you will be happy without us, goodbye”, the woman wrote to her husband, adding that she would have tried to do everything for the family – husband, mother, father, etc etc and that she was “used as a patsy”.
