The next edition of the Art Safari Fair will take place during May 11-20, 2018 and will be an anniversary edition, celebrating Romania’s centennial.

The Museum Pavilion is dedicated to the Great Union’s centennial and will host works from the patrimony of the most important cultural institutions in Romania, but also from private collections. Alina Serban will be the curator.

The Central Exhibition will take place in partnership with Louis Vuitton Foundation, curated by Hervé Mikaeloff.

The Parallel Program will comprise an installation in the public space, made by Clemens Behr (DE).

The organizers expect 50,000 visitors and 2,500 children attending the Art Safari Kids programs.

Attila Kim will be the architect of Art Safari 2018. Winner of six prizes and six nominations within the Bucharest Architecture Biennale in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2014, he is Romania’s commissioner for the Venice Biennale. He won two Arhitext prizes and nominated thrice for the contemporary architecture prize of the European Unions. He was awarded the Mies van der Rohe prize in 2009, 2011 and 2017.

Hervé Mikaeloff –TBD, is a French curator and art consultant. He worked for the Cartier Foundation and later on at the artgallery set up by Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. The first curatorial projects were the collections Caisse des Dépôts from the French Capital. He curated events for the artists around the world, but also major exhibitions at the Art Museum from Hong Kong, Garage, at the Museum of Contemporary Art from Moscow, Venice Biennale and Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Hervé Mikaeloff has also curated the Romanian Scenes exhibition at the Espace culturel Louis Vuitton from Paris in 2013.

Alina Șerban is art historian, curator of several exhibitions presented in Bucharest, Cluj, Oslo, Berlin, Kassel, Innsbruck or Fotogalerie Wien. In 2009, Șerban was curator of Romania’s Pavilion at the International Art Biennale of Venice. She has coordinated the P+4 Publications editorial platform dedicated to the Romanian contemporary art and architecture. Currently, she is developing the Institute of Present, an interdisciplinary artistic structure founded in 2016-end.
