5,000yo tomb discovered in Prahova
A 5,000-year-old tomb was discovered on a field at the exit of Ploiești city to Târgoviște.
According to the archaeologists from the County History Museum in Prahova, they found the main tomb of a tumulus that has allegedly belonged to an important person in a Nomad community.
A copper and porcelain clay necklace has been found on the skeleton’s neck. The necklace had a glasses-like pendant, the only one found in the position it had been initially placed.
The archaeologists say that the discovery is extremely important and rare, as the objects had been found exactly how they were used. They also say that such items are represented on funeral stars in central Europe.
The archaeologists added that this is the third necklace of this type discovered in Prahova county. The jewelry is extremely rare in the rest of the country, especially in tombs that date back 5,000 years ago.
Other two similar tombs have been unveiled in the same area.
