6th edition of Russian Culture Days celebrated in five cities in Romania

The 6th edition of the Russian Culture Days are near, with five major events taking place in five Romanian cities: Bucharest, Craiova, Ploiesti, Zalau and Satu Mare.

Already an autumn tradition in Romania, the Russian cultural event will kick off on October 18, starting 7 p.m. at the Radio Hall in Bucharest with the „Artistry Embassy” concert performed by recipients of Tchaikovsky contest, Pavel Miliukov (violin) and Filipp Kopacevski (piano). The performance is organized by the House of Music in Saint Petersburg, with the support of the Russian Culture Ministry and Romania Radio. Tickets are available at www.eventim.ro and at the Radio Hall’s booking office.

Another event to celebrate the Russian culture is the indoor and open-air photo exhibition by Russian young artist Tatiana Belitskaia dedicated to Russia’s cultural patrimony. The exhibition is hosted by the Russian Center of Science and Culture (50 Lascar Catargiu Boulevard) during October 19-November 5. Free access.

The October 26-30 period is dedicated to the traditional „Russian Film Week” comprising seven movies this year, to be screened at Horia Bernea Studio of the Romanian Peasant Museum (3 Monetariei Street). All films are 2015-2016 productions and will have Romanian subtitle.

There will be all sorts of films: feature films, comedies, movies for children, love and patriotic films, about sports, war or peace. The opening ceremony will be attended by Russian filmmakers and actors.

The Russian Film Week will go on in Zalau during November 1-4 and in Satu Mare during November 2-5.

November 8 is booked for a varnishing day, this time dedicated to a personal exhibition by Maria Semionova, doctor in pedagogics sciences, professor of painting and composition at the Culture and Art Institute. The artist will share the secrets of her artistry to grown ups and little ones during a workshop on November 8, at 6 p.m., „The study of water color portrait”.

The Russian Days will end in Ploiesti on November 11 (5 p.m.), with the exhibition presenting the Russian traditional folk costume, „Folk costume…Well turned out people”, which will acquaint the audience with the old countryside clothes from Russia’s European side. The outfits belong to the collection of the Traditional Costumes Museum in Pereslavl-Zalessky.

Authentic costumes will be on display, with most of the items being more than 100 years old, and is some cases, 150 years old.

The exhibition will be varnished in Bucharest at the Russian Center on November 15.
