The first art performances of 2020 push for a strong start early this month across theaters in Bucharest.

The Symphactory Orchestra, with Tiberiu Soare as conductor, will perform the extraordinary New Year concert, Magical Spanish Night, at Radio Hall in Bucharest tonight. The 8th edition of this concert will be broadcast by TVR3 starting 7 p.m.
Music fans will be delighted with compositions by Maurice Ravel (the famous Boléro), Rimski-Korsakov, Emmanuel Chabrier, Manuel de Falla, Gerónimo Giménez, Carlos Gardel and others.

The “I.L. Caragiale” National Theatre will host TRACES (photo) on January 9, the contemporary dance performance released as a first within the Europalia Romania festival in December last month. The unique representation in the Romanian capital will kick off the Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus dance company’s international tour.

The event is organised by the Romanian Cultural Institute, in partnership with the Bucharest National Theatre (TNB) and with Europalia Arts Festival Brussels.
EUROPALIA International Art Festival is the largest cultural event in Belgium, held under the patronage of the Belgian Royal Family, once in two years in Belgium and other neighbouring countries: France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany or UK.

The Romanian Cultural Institute is coordinating Romania’s attendance to the 27th edition of EUROPALIA Festival, running since October 2019 through February 2020, an edition entirely dedicated to Romania.

A recital dedicated to the Romanian national poet Mihai Eminescu is staged at TNB on Saturday, January 11, as pf 8 p.m, to commemorate 170 years since the birth of the great poet. The recital is performed by actor Ion Caramitru and clarinet player Aurelian Octav Popa.

Tickets for the show are available at the TNB booking office and online at
