Balkanik Festival launches the DESCANTEC party series!

Balkanik – World Music Festival, an event recognized for its unique atmosphere, the unique artists that the public has the opportunity to discover, the inclusive spirit and the character of a cultural melting pot for the communities of Bucharest, launches the DESCÂNTEC! party series, which will take place once per month, in Bucharest, and will bring on stage artists who were present at the Balkanik Festival, as well as other musicians from the entire country and from abroad.

The first announced events will take place on December 1, with TARAF DE CALIU, and on New Year’s Eve, with PAULINA.

The first DESCANTEC will take place on December 1, with the arrival of winter. Sing and dance at nJoy Club & Garden (club and terrace, Mihai Bravu road no. 223) TARAF DE CALIU (live), together with Ligia Keșișian, poet and Balkanik Festival curator, (Balkan, world music and disco DJ set) and film producer and festival founder Daniel Mitulescu (world music and fiddler DJ set).

The former members of Taraf de Haïdouks, awarded in 2002 with the BBC World Music Award for the best band in Europe and the Middle East, reunited under the name Taraf de Caliu, will delight the audience on the first day of winter on the Balkanik Festival stage # Enchantment, with Viorica Rudăreasa. The musicians, originally from Clejani, are the last generation of authentic fiddlers who make known, throughout the world, the traditional fiddle music specific to southern Romania. For several years, these talented artists have returned to the attention of the music-loving public, participating in prestigious cultural events around the world.

Music, cauldron food and joy await you on December 1 in the newest space opened in Piața Muncii – nJoy Club & Garden (Mihai Bravu Street no. 223).

The second DESCÂNTEC starts on December 31, at 20:00 and announces a memorable New Year’s Eve, with live music, with a PAULINA concert, together with a live band, and DJ sets by Ligia Keșișian and Daniel Mitulescu, plus other surprises to be announced on journey.

PAULINA took piano, singing and violin lessons, but she is the type of artist who lets herself be guided by intuition. Raised among tapes, close to fiddlers and creative people, she comes from a family of musicians where she learned to love life through art, among metal players and among fiddlers. Around the world, Paulina looks for beauty in the unconventional, with innocence and gentleness. Paulina became known with the release of the songs “Fetița ta de milioane”, “Bucureşti” or “Cântec de dor”, composed in the style of the early 90s.
