Bucharest National Opera Opens October with Swan Lake, Aida, Carmen & More
The beginning of October brings an exceptional program to the stage of the Bucharest National Opera, filled with famous and emotional performances. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy a series of masterpieces from the international repertoire, with renowned artists bringing timeless stories to life. Between October 3-8, we will be treated to a variety of operas and ballets, each with its own unique charm.
Swan Lake – Thursday, October 3, 6:30 PM
The first performance of the month is the classic ballet Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a symbol of grace and pure emotion. The captivating choreography and profound music will transport spectators to a fairy-tale world full of beauty and elegance. This show promises to be an unforgettable visual and auditory experience.
Aida – Friday, October 4, 6:30 PM
Verdi’s Aida, a grand spectacle that combines love, war, and sacrifice in a dramatic story set in ancient Egypt. The artists of the Bucharest National Opera will bring the iconic characters to life, offering the audience an unforgettable evening where Verdi’s music will resonate with power and emotion.
The Elixir of Love – Saturday, October 5, 6:30 PM
Later in the week, the audience can enjoy the lyrical comedy The Elixir of Love by Gaetano Donizetti. This charming comic opera, full of rhythm and humor, tells the story of young Nemorino, who seeks to win his beloved’s heart with the help of a “magic elixir.” A tale of illusions and love, brought to the stage with great energy and talent.
Carmen – Sunday, October 6, 6:30 PM
On Sunday evening, Georges Bizet’s masterpiece Carmen will electrify the hall. This passionate and dramatic opera, centered on the destructive love between Carmen and Don José, is one of the most performed operas in the world. The artists of the Bucharest National Opera will convey the intensity of this story filled with passion and conflict.
