Bucharest Opera’s “La traviata” presented at the Metropolitan Opera in Philadelphia
“La traviata” staged at the Bucharest National Opera by Paul Curran has been taken over by the Philadelphia Opera, which is a premiere in the institution’s history. The performance had its premiere in Bucharest on October 30, 2014. Among the guests invited to attend the premiers of the show was David Levy, the vice-president of the Philadelphia Opera House, who expressed intention to take over the performance. So, the show was released in US on October 2 this year, being sold-out. “La traviata” starred the trio Lisette Oropesa (Violetta), Alek Shrader (Alfredo) and Stephen Powell (Germont), with Corrado Rovaris as conductor.
The next representations are scheduled at Philadelphia Opera on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday this week, while the show will be screened in HD resolution in the National Independence Park on October 16.
