“Children’s Opera” Festival to enchant the little ones this weekend

“Children’s Opera” Festival is taking Bucharest by storm this weekend ahead International Children’s Day, with events peaking on June 1. The little ones are invited to spend amazing time in Herastrau Park, at “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum and at the Comic Opera for Children, where the festival is due to bring something new every day.

The festival is beginning with “Friendship Day” when the team of the Comic Opera for Children will hold the Children Picnic (during 15:00-17:00) at the Village Museum. It is a charitable event aiming to help 200 children in need from Bucharest.

The next two days, “The Music Day” and “The Traditions Day” are destined to activities in the family.

Village Museum is hosting a treasure hunt on Saturday (10:00-17:00) awarded with surprise prizes, while Herastrau Park is hosting three artistic moments: “The Music Box” (16:00-19:00) comprising concerts performed by children ensembles in the park’s Pavilion. A second event is “The Stories Realm” (14:00-15:00) telling the story of the Comic opera’s characters. The event is due on the lake shore, at Peluza. “Concerts on the shore” is the third event (20:00-21:00) hosting folk performances.

The Comic Opera for Children is also presenting on Saturday the last three performances of the “Magic Flute” opera. Sunday is dedicated to “Coana Chirita” musical.

The last day of the festival brings music and motion in the limelight, through the parade of some ballet schools (“Jacqueline”, “Spirit of Sound”, “Floria Capsali” choreography high school, “Contrapunct”, “Soleil”, “La Sylphide”). The parade is starting from the Village Museum, goes on Kiseleff Boulevard up to the Arch of Triumph, on Michael Jackson alley, where every participant school will perform a flashmob.

On June 1, right on Children’s Day, Chiojdu House inside the Village Museum will host some interviews with culture, sports, art and journalism personalities.

Oraselul Copiilor park is also hosting surprise events on June 1, with Itsy Bitsy FM radio inviting the children and their parents to color together three giant animals especially made for this celebration: a giraffe, an elephant and a camel. 150 children bands will perform on the stage; Amicii, Contrapunct, Fargolino, Liliput, with Nicul Alifantis as special guest. He will perform songs dedicated to children from his latest album “Hopscotch”.
