4 jazz bands from 3 continents clash for EUROPAfest Grand Prize
The Festival Gala is due at Odeon Theatre on May 23.
The 10 days marathon of jazz, blues, pop and classical events, which took place simultaneously in Bucharest and Sibiu, ends with an exceptional concert, whose coordinates are diversity, special atmosphere and high artistic level.
The scene of Odeon Theatre will be brought back to life on Saturday by the most appreciated jazz bands in the festival, the finalists of Bucharest International Jazz Competition: Pilot from Australia, Shalosh from Israel, Atom String Quartet from Poland and Mynah from Italy.
During the same night, the public will discover the new stars of the international violin stage, when the laureates of the 22nd edition of Jeunesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti will be awarded.
After the high-class performances offered by the Bucharest International Jazz Competition finalists and the awarding for the violin competition Prince Nicholas of Romania will offer the Diploma of Excellency to a company partner of the festival.
The crescendo end brings a captivating jam session with all musicians attending, followed by the award of the “Best Band” and “Grand Prize Winner” prizes.
Before the Gala there is another Bucharest-Sibiu duplex at Caffe Festival Ibis on May 22, at 20:00 when the Best of Jazz concert is due. The Best of Classic concert – Final of Jeunesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti is due in Sibiu, at 19:00, on the scene of Thalia Hall, when the artists will perform together with the State Philharmonic of Sibiu.
Under the motto It’s all about live quality music!, EUROPAfest, the only European festival reuniting 4 musical genres – jazz, blues, pop and classic has presented over 300 artists from 45 countries during its 22nd edition, between 14 – 23 of May.
