The first immersive dance show at MINA
MINA, the Museum of Immersive New Art, premieres the immersive dance performance [IN BETWEEN] on April 12 . The show is designed and directed by Bobi Pricop together with choreographer Filip Stoica, assisted by Simona Dabija, and the soundtrack was created by Alexei Țurcan. The digital visual universe was signed by the animation studio Les Atelieres Nomad.
Like all the shows exhibited so far, [IN BETWEEN] is a MINA brand production and is one of the main projects of this year. The show will run for a period of 3 months with a frequency of twice a week. The duration will be 45 minutes, and tickets will be available for purchase on the museum’s website at the price of 190 lei.
“The piece is the first complex project we are developing in the field of performing arts and is the result of what we set out to do this year, namely to explore the potential of space in as many artistic areas as possible. From the very beginning, we wanted MINA to be more than an immersive space, to be a true cultural pillar full of innovation that promotes Romanian values.” – say the founders of MINA .
The performance will stage ten heroes, namely dancers and acrobats who will take the audience on a breathtaking adventure in several dimensions, where the symbiosis between human and artificial will be explored.
The performers in this show are: Bianca Ardeleanu, Bogdan Zamfir, Denis Bolborea, Dima Roșca, Georgeta Corca, Iulia Lupașcu, Maria-Luiza Dimulescu, Robert Popa, Răzvan Rotaru, Roxana Popa, Simona Dabija, Snopovschi Alexandru and Silviu Mititelu .
“[IN BETWEEN] aims to offer the audience a unique experience that combines contemporary dance, acrobatics and new technologies. I find it absolutely excellent that, in such a short time, the MINA Museum already manages to produce its own shows at a level of professionalism and with an attention to detail that has definitely impressed me. The months of rehearsals and preparations with the team from MINA and the artistic team of the show have been a real joy and this can be seen in the artistic product and will be felt by the audience as well. It’s the most wonderful feeling for a director to see how the whole team feels the potential of a project and engages artistically with confidence and creativity.” – said Bobi Pricop.
“We are pleased to work with Bobi Pricop, Filip Stoica, Simona Dabija and all those involved in this project. Together we have managed to create an unprecedented collaboration in our exhibition space and we will certainly make our presence felt even more deeply on the performing arts scene. This project is a source of pride for us as we can offer the public a new, much more dynamic and memorable experience that will raise the interactive element to a new level.” – say the founders of MINA.
MINA is the first immersive space in Romania and the largest new media art center in Southeast Europe. The museum combines art and technology in a sensory space for all ages and aims to increase cultural consumption and the quality of cultural production in Romania. Through this multifunctional space, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, we expand the boundaries of multidisciplinary and international collaborations that support innovation and digitalization. MINA is a project conceived by One Night Gallery and Le Petit.
