Contagious weekend with great bands: ToTo, Godsmack & Slash

Rock fans were jammed on June 4 and 5. What to choose? ToTo or Godsmack? Mike Terrana? On Sunday it was easier for them to decide,  as it was one single but great concert: Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. It was classic rock and the band was for the second time in Romania with the same Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge.

Yes! The ToTo concert was above my expectations. Excellent! True artists! Every note was perfect. Sad but true, Romanians still do not know how to appreciate the real musicians and the venue was pretty sad, somewhere around 1,500 up to 2,000 people (perhaps many rockers have gone to Arenele Romane for Godsmack gig). But those few of them were extremely welcoming, warm and have motivated ToTo artists. The audience was formed by many musicians, promoters like: Trooper, Holograf, Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, Berti Barbera, Nicu Patoi, Johnny Sandulescu, Georgiana and Ivan Patzaichin, Dan Creimerman, Nana Cnejevici, Dorian Beading, Razvan “Lapi” Lupu, Minel Stoica, Mihai Pocorschi, Trepcea Cristina Ilie Vorvoreanu, Alan Zamora, Vali Rotari, Eugen Mih?escu, Horia Brenciu, Kompas Events and many others …

Steve Lukather shone. Like the music he sings and as versatile musician, guitarist and vocalist he is.

The tracklist was: Running Out of Time, I’ll Supply the Love, Stranger In Town, I Will Not Hold You Back, Hold The Line, Never Enough (David piano solo), Pamela, Great Expectations, Without Your Love / Wing, The Road Goes On, Orphan, Rosanna and Africa as encore.

At the Arenele Romane, Godsmack members said they were very pleased about the audience and they want to return to Romania. “You have some great places here … I felt really good since we arrived,” said Sully Erna, the lead singer of the band Godsmack. “We were in a long tour. We played in England, Germany, “fucking Bulgaria” and other countries, and our friends asked us why we want to come in Romania … What are we doing in Romania? Thus, we arrived and we really like it!, Sully Erna also mentioned during the concert, and finally he said that he wants to return for another concert in Bucharest next year.
They performed well-known songs like “Awake,” “Voodoo” or “Stand Alone”, the latter being left to the end of the concert. Godsmack also came to Bucharest with new songs from their latest album “1000HP”, released on August 2014. The most awaited moment  was “the duel” between Erna and the drummer, Shannon Larkin.

On Sunday, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy with The Conspirators offered to the public an explosive concert at the Arenele Romane in Bucharest. Slash is a rock icon, a musician who, despite his modesty, displays a great talent. The audience was pleased of what they heard.
