Controversies at Beach, Please! festival: Andrew Tate on stage, Wiz Khalifa lights cannabis joint

After the scandal of rapper Wiz Khalifa, who performed Saturday at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinești, who was detained by law enforcement after lighting a cannabis joint on stage, the festival was marked by another controversial moment. On the last night of concerts, the American rapper French Montana called on the stage, to the applause of the spectators, the influencer Andrew Tate who, together with his brother Tristan Tate, are accused of human trafficking and criminal group, instigation to hit, hit or other violence. In addition, Andrew Tate is also being tried separately in a rape case.

To the applause of those present at the concert, Tate entered the stage and greeted the crowd. “Romania loves you bro,” said French Montana. Then a Florin Salam mane rang in the speakers.

In retort, the organizers of the festival state in a press release that the influencer stayed “for 30 seconds” on the stage in Costinești and that each artist has the freedom to bring guests on stage, without having to declare a nominal list.

“The artistic program does not include the name Andrew Tate, no time slot is dedicated to him. The Beach Please scene, like all scenes in the world, is a platform for free artistic expression. The artistic moment in which Andrew Tate appeared was both a spontaneous one on the part of French Montana and a surprise for the festival. This aspect can also be seen from the fact that it was not properly equipped to perform in this sense”, the organizers state. Any statement made on the festival stage does not represent the position of the organizer,” Beach Please officials said.

“We’re just providing a stage for the biggest artists of the moment to build their show however they want.”

The organizers also claim that the festival Beach, Please! “aims to provide a platform for music and entertainment while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all participants.”

Criminal charges against the Tates

The brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate and the two accomplices were sent to court in June 2023 for constituting an organized criminal group with a view to committing the crime of drug trafficking on the territory of Romania, but also of other countries, such as the United States of America and Great Britain people. The prosecutors carried out investigations regarding the involvement of the four in committing the crimes of constituting an organized criminal group, human trafficking in a continuous form (in relation to each individual defendant, four material acts, three material acts, six material acts and, respectively, five material acts relative to the number of injured persons), continued rape (two material acts), illegal access to computer system, alteration of the integrity of computer data, instigation to hit or other violence and hitting or other violence. DIICOT specified that the criminal group would have been established at the beginning of 2021, the purpose being the trafficking of people on the territory of Romania, but also of other countries.

As fo July 5, 2024, the Tate brothers remained under judicial control, but received the court’s approval to leave Romania.

Separately, Andrew Tate is on trial in Romania in a case of rape, human trafficking and the formation of a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. He was arrested near Bucharest, in December 2022, together with his brother and two Romanian women.

Romanian prosecutors officially indicted all four in June 2023, and they deny the charges. Tate, who has amassed 8.9 million followers on X, has repeatedly claimed that prosecutors in Romania have no evidence against him and that there is a political conspiracy to silence him. He was previously banned from various major social platforms for expressing misogynistic views and hate speech.

Wiz Khalifa, arrested for using cannabis on stage

The authorities reported on Sunday morning that Wiz Khalifa was being investigated in a state of freedom for possession of dangerous drugs. The rapper had 18 grams of cannabis with him.

Other incident

The incident with Wiz Khalifa comes after another controversy that took place at the festival co-founded by influencer Selly. The well-known vlogger had announced that he would do an anti-drug campaign on the occasion of the event, but among the artists who performed the past few days was also a young man who sang about “getting high

Specifically, on the first day of the festival, the trapper Candyboii played a song called “A B C D”, which contains obscene lyrics and talks about drugs and “getting high”. The moment was immortalized even by the organizers of the Beach, Please! festival. and published on the official TikTok channel with one million followers, where the event is broadcast live.
