December’s concerts: from classic to rock and Christmas carols
Although it’s the last month of 2015 and everybody is rushing for the winter holiday’s presents and preparations, December is full of music and performances, from classic to rock and Christmas carols: Nightwish Finnish rockers come back to Bucharest, as well as Belgian singer Selah Sue. Schoenbrunn Palace Festival Orchestra Vienna is also returning to enchant Bucharesters’ ears, while the list of winter holidays’ events could not miss concerts by Ștefan Bănică Jr. and Ștefan Hrușcă.
Portuguese fado singer Dulce Pontes is also coming back to Bucharest to perform at Sala Palatului tonight, December 2, at 8 p.m, while the 2Cellos cellist duo consisting of Stjepan Hauser and Luka Šulić are making a comeback at Sala Palatului the next day, on December 6.
December 7 is the day of Tarja Turunen, who will perform at Sala Palatului, as of 8 p.m., and also of The Aristocrats, whose venue are the Roman Arenas/ Arenele Romane (8 p.m.).
Nightwish Finnish band chose Romexpo as venue for their concert of December 10, at 8 p.m. The gig is part of their “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” promotion tour. Arch Enemy and Amorphis are the invited artists.
Romanian Ștefan Bănică Jr. will have his Christmas concerts at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, as of 19:30 on December 11, 12, 13, thus for the 14th year in a row, with his musical production becoming the most long-lived one in Romania.
Romanian carol singer Ștefan Hrușcă, who has been living in Canada for more than 20 years, is also returning to his mother country this year to carry on the carol custom. He will perform two shows at the “I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre in Bucharest on December 14, at 17:30 and 20:00.
Belgian singer Selah Sue, alternating electro-soul, trip-hop and house beats, is returning to Romania to perform at Beraria H in Bucharest on December 15.
Italian tenor Alessandro Safina is expected in Bucharest on December 21 for a special Christmas concert. Safina is accompanied by 74 professional musicians, known as Alexander Symphony Orchestra. Venue: Sala Palatului, 7 p.m.
